Fatty and the dust storm

After days of watching the Pete's pond cam, I finally saw Fatty, early this morning my time (about 3:30 a.m.), which translates to about 12:30 p.m. Pete's Pond time.

He just made a brief appearance on the beach, as far as I could tell.

I saw the dust storm at about that time as well. It came rolling over the horizon, even obscuring bushes in the mid distance.

I usually see elephants in the pond during the heat of the day, but I'm assuming that the dust storm drove them away.

I have seen the elephants tonight, about 3/4 - 1/2 hour ago. (at about 9:15 pm Pete's Pond time.)

So far elephants are the only thing I've been able to make out clearly on the night cam, although there are quick flickers of what might be birds or animal eyes. (Possibly jackals?)

Well, back to the pond! I'm hooked!!!!

How to post in this community

Welcome, everyone!
I just realized that some folks might not know how to make a community post. Here are the instructions:

How do I post in a community?

will need to first join a community before you can post, as posting
access is frequently granted with membership. You can then post to the
community using either the web interface or a downloaded client.

post so that only members of the community can see your entry, you will
need to select the "Friends" security level. There is no way to use the
"Private" or "Custom" security levels in a community.

If you are having problems posting in a community, please see http://www.livejournal.com/support/faqbrowse.bml?faqid=212

Go to the Update Journal page (http://www.livejournal.com/update.bml) while logged in. In the drop-down list titled "Post to", you can select the community to which you want to post.

communities may allow users to post entries without being a member. If
this is the case, you will see a blue pencil icon on the small blue
toolbar on the Community Info page. Clicking on that pencil icon will
take you to an update page where you can compose and post your entry to
the community.

clients available for download include the ability to post entries to a
community. For more information on your preferred client, consult its
documentation or its menu options.

I hope that helps.
